A deeper look into why engine bearings fail including how machining and parts selection can affect bearing life. A better understanding of what bearing wear indications are telling the engine builder.

“Diagnosing Mechanical Engine Issues in 15 Minutes or Less”
Chris will demonstrate how to determine if a gas or diesel engine has a mechanical concern or not without any disassembly including removing any spark plugs or injectors. In extremely short order, we can determine if and what cylinder(s) have sealing and breathing issues along with identifying potential causes. Chris will discuss Pico Technology tooling, techniques, and diagnostic strategies during a few case studies.

“Modern Honing Techniques”
Keith and Scott will discuss modern honing techniques for modern cylinders and rings – specifically what has changed and why.
Ross Castner, Optitorque Technologies
“Fasteners”
Fasteners are one of the most abused, misused, misunderstood and blamed items in an engine failure. Ross will discuss the importance of fastener technology including stress and strain, clamp load, joint separation, fastener creep, and the influence of temperature.

Too often at large trade shows, many of your customers can’t find the time to meet with you or they were not able to attend. By teaming up with a regional host, AERA makes it easier for engine builders and rebuilders to attend a conference with the vendors they do business with. All AERA members, as well as non-member shops from that specific region, will be invited. AERA and the host will be inviting all potential attendees.
